Three Basic Requirements for an EB-1 Extraordinary Ability Application

Hi William:

As a postdoctoral in the Environment Science with 5 publications and abut 20 citations, I want to apply for the EB-1 Extraordinary Ability green card by using your DIY package. But I am not sure if I could prove my "extraordinary ability" in my field. Do you have any suggestion?

Answer:

For an Green Card application filed for an alien immigrant with extraordinary ability, it should demonstrate that you have a level of expertise that you have risen to the top of the field. Evidence must be submitted to support an Form I-140 application for EB1 extraordinary ability. The application should be accompanied by initial evidence of sustained national or international acclaim, and your achievements have been recognized in the field of expertise.

If you can answer Yes to all of the following 3 questions below, then you may meet the requirements for an EB-1 Extraordinary Ability Green Card requirements:

1) do you have extraordinary ability in business, science, arts, education or athletics?

2) do you have sustained national or international acclaim in your field?

3) are you coming to the United States to work in your area of extraordinary ability?
