My company has filed I-485 petition for me under the EB1-EA category. I may be laid off soon. What options do I have?

Answer:

For company sponsored petition, the I-485 application and associated EAD become void after you get laid off. If the company does not revoke your I-140, you can continue using the EAD to work for another company until your get a new H1B. Thereafter, You may substitute the previous I-140 for the I-485 petition with a new I-140 from the new company. Although some people have escaped with no consequences before, but it does not mean that this is going to continue in the future.
