I Never Receive A Receipt Notice From USCIS Service Center

Dr. William:

I filed my I-140/Outstanding Professor application about two months ago, but I never receive a receipt notice from USCIS service center. Please let me know what I should do? Thank you very much.

Answer:

This is a common problem that USCIS Service Center does not send a receipt notice to an applicant. If sometimes there are computer system problems, they are unable to generate notices. Failure to get a receipt does not usually interfere your case processing.

You can call the USCIS Service Center, to see if they are able to find your name in the computer. If they can not find your petition in their computer system, you may have to resubmit a new copy of the application.
