The Publications Not In English For I-140 Self Application

Dr. William:

I have two questions for I-140 myself petition preparation:

1) I had my Ph.D. Degree notarized in China. I want to know if the notarizations from China are effective in the U.S, or if I still need to have my Ph.D. translated into English?

2) I have 9 publications in domestic journals in China. Most of them have English abstracts. Do I still need to have them ( the whole paper) translated into English in the U.S.?

I am looking forward to your reply. Thank You.

A:

The notarized Ph.D. Degree should be accepted by USCIS, but you need to have an English version of this notarization for USCIS officer to understand.

For publications in Chinese, you can send copies of your publications to USCIS, and put an English abstracts as the first page for each copy of the publication.
